It’s always been a family affair…<\/strong><\/div>\n

Good food was always a major ingredient in Caroline\u2019s life, and growing up in Lake City, South Carolina, life revolved around entertaining. Caroline\u2019s mother was a fabulous cook and a gracious entertainer, delighting guests with recipes that had been a part of her family for generations. Whether a meticulously planned cocktail party, or an impromptu backyard barbecue, gracious hospitality and good food were guaranteed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The cake that started it all…<\/strong><\/div>\n

When Caroline Reutter first served her friends and family that decadently layered Caramel Cake, she shared not only a delicious dessert, but the spirit of hospitality, grace and tradition that she baked in too. For four decades that time-honored process has been continued through her family, growing to more than thirty signature flavors, and expanding to savory delights and gluten-free options, so there\u2019s truly something for everyone, and every celebration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The first orders…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Customers would pick up their cakes from Caroline’s front porch and leave payment in a red tin, relying on the honor system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The business was born…<\/strong><\/div>\n

Caroline\u2019s background was in interior design, but her delicious cakes and innate sense of celebration, soon had many requesting her services to sweeten up their own events. Partnering with a baker in South Carolina, they\u2019d pack her father\u2019s charcoal delivery trucks with her customer\u2019s special deliveries, until sadly, the baker fell ill, and Caroline had to decide if she could continue managing the growing business. Her customers made it clear- more cake was needed!
