Museum of the Moving Image (<\/span>MoMI<\/span>) is the only museum in the U.S. that explores the central technology of the present moment.\u202f<\/span>Screens<\/span>\u202fare all around us. We use them to educate, entertain<\/span>,<\/span>\u202fand communicate. The moving image\u2014<\/span><\/span>encompassing\u202f<\/span><\/span>film, television, video games,\u202f<\/span><\/span>and\u202f<\/span><\/span>other forms of digital media\u2014shapes how we see and feel the world. With\u00a0<\/span><\/span>exhibitions\u202f<\/span><\/span>and screenings on the art, history, technique, and science of the moving image,\u00a0<\/span>MoMI<\/span>\u00a0presents the real and imagined worlds of our past, present, and future. With ground-breaking education programs, digital literacy initiatives, and\u00a0<\/span>cutting-edge<\/span>\u00a0media labs,\u00a0<\/span>MoMI<\/span>\u00a0is not just a museum but also a place where\u00a0<\/span><\/span>we\u00a0<\/span><\/span>can all make sense of the forces and experiences\u00a0<\/span>that create our shared reality.\u202f<\/span>MoMI<\/span>\u00a0is an open world in the heart of\u00a0<\/span>both\u00a0<\/span>Astoria,\u00a0<\/span>NYC,\u00a0<\/span>and our\u00a0<\/span>entire\u00a0<\/span>creative community.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Museum fulfills its mission in person and online through temporary and permanent exhibitions; film screenings; live conversations with artists, filmmakers, scholars, media educators, and other industry professionals; articles published in MoMI\u2019s online film magazine\u00a0Reverse Shot<\/em><\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and science and film resource\u00a0Sloan Science & Film<\/em><\/a><\/strong>;<\/strong>\u00a0access to the Museum\u2019s collection of more than 130,000 objects; and the online presentation of a range of films\u2014including acclaimed new release features and award-winning science shorts, plus archived video of Museum events, and more.
