NYSOFA fulfills this mission through advocacy, development, and delivery of person-centered, consumer-oriented, and cost-effective policies, programs, and services that support and empower older adults and their families, in partnership with a network of public and private state and community organizations.<\/p>\n<h3>-NYSOFA Mission Statement<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) works with a network of 59 Area Agencies on Aging and over 1,200 community partners to provide New York&#8217;s 4.8 million older adults with a range of community-based services and supports.<\/p>\n<p>NYSOFA\u2019s overall goal is to help older adults age in their community and avoid higher levels of care.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Our Mission<\/h3>\n<div class=\"page-paragraphs landing-paragraphs\">\n<div class=\"page-paragraphs-in\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"paragraph paragraph--type--webny-wysiwyg-pgtype paragraph--view-mode--default\">\n<div class=\"wysiwyg--field-webny-wysiwyg-body\">\n<h3>Maintain Independence<\/h3>\n<p>NYSOFA helps older New Yorkers be as independent as possible for as long as possible in their homes and communities of choice.<\/p>\n<h3>Person-Centered Supports<\/h3>\n<p>NY&#8217;s 59 Area Agencies on Aging deliver services tailored to older adults, families and caregivers, providing a just-right level of support to empower successful aging in the community.<\/p>\n<h3>Qualified, Professional Service<\/h3>\n<p>NYS aging services case managers are the most highly trained professionals in the nation.
